Hide Posts is an app that allows you to control spammers on your network without them knowing that you are managing their posts. It is also useful if you run a niche community and want to hide posts that are not related to the subject of the community.
This is what this app will do:
Will allow admins to hide specific posts in the main feed from being seen on your network. You just need to click on the eye that shows on the upper-right corner of the feed. Only admins, the owners of the post, and other spammers can see the post.
Spammers will see other spammer's posts. It's an educative way of making them taste a little bit of what they are doing on your network.
All the other members that are not spammers will not see the posts you hide.
The spammers themselves will not know that you have hidden their posts because they will continue to see it.
There is a setting that also allows you to hide all posts from a specific member by adding their IDs. Again, these posts will only be visible, on the main feed, to the administrator and the owner of those posts.
This is what this app will not do:
It will not hide the posts on the spammer's profile. All posts hidden will not be seen by your members in the main feed, but if your members go to the spammer profile, they will be able to see the posts.
It will not hide content. If you hide from the feed a post of a blog that same post will not be seen by your members, but if your members go to the blog section, the blog, that was hidden in the feed, will continue to be visible to all in that section.
By my own experience, members only see content on the main feed, especially if they access your network by mobile. So, by filtering what they can see on the main feed, you are guaranty that your system remains healthy and exciting for your members.
